Location : Logan, UT
As part of the Product Test and Compliance Department, the Software
Product Test Group is responsible for testing Campbell Scientific
software products. Campbell Scientific provides desktop, mobile,
and cloud-based software solutions to our customers. Product Test
and Compliance Department team members work together to ensure
Campbell Scientific customers receive software and hardware
products that are of high quality and fit for purpose. Campbell

What You'll Work On
As a Product Test Engineer, you will be part of a team that
validates software and hardware product performance and quality.
The role of a Product Test Engineer in the Software Product Test
Group is to find, characterize, and report software product issues
and refine the test process.
You Will Support Your Team by Performing the Following Key
Tasks:
- Collaborate with software product development teams and other
product stakeholders
- Participate in software product design reviews by providing input
on requirements, design, and testability
- Create and execute test plans
- Develop manual and automated tests
- Document test cases
- Analyze defects discovered during testing and reported by
customers
- Document and report test results
- Track defects to resolution and be the customer advocate
- Validate defect fixes
- Maintain test equipment and software
- Develop best practices and improve testing procedures to insure
software product performance, reliability, scalability, and overall
quality
- Support the technical writing staff in the creation of user
manuals, application notes, case studies, and educational
materials
What We're Looking For
- Degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Information
Systems, or related field
- Must be passionate about testing and problem solving, analytical,
a critical thinker, and attentive to detail
- Work well in a team environment - freely exchange ideas,
graciously provide and accept aid, and take on tasks assigned by
team members and supervisors
- Excellent oral and written English communication skills
- Ability to identify user experience failures and provide
solutions to improve the user experience
- Ability to ensure the software created or modified is fit for
purpose and meets product objectives
- Working knowledge of computer programming and scripting
languages
- Knowledge of the software testing processes and the software
testing lifecycle
- Experience using test automation software
- Experience using bug tracking systems
- Experience working in an Agile software development
environment
- Computer and associated software skills, including Microsoft 365
(Teams, Word, Excel---)
- Experience testing mobile, desktop, and virtual (cloud-based)
applications
- Experience with internet communication protocols including
TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, HTTP, HTTPS, WebSockets, FTP, SMTP, MQTT, and
other internet protocols
- Experience with web browser developer tools (F12)
- Experience with computer programming and/or scripting languages
such as JavaScript, Python, PHP, AutoIT, or Visual Basic
- Proficient with test automation software such as TestComplete,
Selenium, PyTest, or other test automation software
- Proficient with JIRA issue and project tracking software
- Proficient with Zephyr test management software
- Proficient with the Scrum and Kanban frameworks of an Agile
software development environment
Work Environment
This is an office environment where 90% or more of the time will be
spent on a personal computer. Periodic travel may be required.
Physical Requirements
Sitting for extending periods. Standing, bending, and twisting
consistent with normal business operations in an office setting.
Use of desktop PC for extended periods during a standard workday.
Handling of electronic equipment such as data loggers and wiring of
sensors and peripheral devices will be required.
