JOB DESCRIPTION: Electric Power Systems (EPS) is an emerging leader in Energy Storage Systems for the Aerospace & Transportation markets.--Our Team develops innovative cutting-edge system solutions to address major societal issues by providing sustainable electric propulsion systems.--EPS is seeking talent that is drawn to solving new problems, comfortable with thinking out of the box, has a proven history of successful innovation, and enjoys working on a team with like-minded individuals. EPS is re-locating its corporate HQ from Los Angeles to Logan, Utah and is looking for like-minded individuals to staff its new Logan facility. POSTION SUMMARY: The Director, Business Development is responsible for overseeing all Aerospace & Defense sales and marketing efforts on behalf of the company and will be responsible for growing and sustaining the Aerospace and Defense Business for the company. This position requires long hours, extensive travel, and excellent interpersonal and persuasive skills. This position works to identify new business opportunities in both the rapidly emerging Hybrid and All Electric Aviation Propulsion Market and the Defense and Space Market. The Director of Business Development meets with major clients, helps define product requirements with customer, and works with engineering to define a solution, and manages the bid and proposal process through contract award.--The Position also promotes company commercial off the shelf products and services.ROLES AND RESPONSIBILITES------------------Meets with the some of the largest Aerospace companies in the world, along with emerging startups to discuss company's products and services.------------------Works to foster relationships that translate into long term accounts for the company.------------------Locates for opportunities in research, development, certification, and production programs.------------------Networks with government and military officials to learn about upcoming programs and opportunities.------------------Reviews opportunities to determine goodness of fit with the overall company strategy.------------------Leads the bid and proposal phase gate with a cross functional team, which includes; o------Establishing and managing B&P budget o------Defining Marketing Requirementso------Working with Engineering to define a technical solution o------Working with Program Management to define Program Budgets, Schedule, and staffing needso------Defining business case parameters with finance and operationso------Writing the proposal with cross functional supporto------Presenting to Executive Management for approvalo------Leading the contract negotiation process.------------------Creates sales activity reports and forecasts------------------Works to ensure growth targets are met.------------------Attends national and international sales conferences and trade shows.------------------Devises new and innovative ways to market products and services.------------------Assists in designing marketing and promotional materials both in print and online.------------------Conducts independent research into target markets, and collects voice of the customer (VOC) data.------------------Works with Technical leadership to define product and technology roadmaps based on VOC data collected------------------Builds strategic relationships with peer organizations and customers COMPETENCIES------------------Demonstrates detailed knowledge of Energy Storage Systems (Batteries, Power Electronics, High Integrity Controls).------------------History of working in Electric Vehicle, Aviation, Defense, or Space markets.------------------Exhibits strong interpersonal and customer service skills.------------------Strong Contractual knowledge and Demonstrated negotiation skills.------------------Strong Project Management skills------------------Demonstrated leader of cross functional teams in a matrix organization------------------Takes initiative and can work well in a sometimes ambiguous work environment ------------------Exhibits familiarity with Microsoft Word, Excel, Power Point, and Outlook.------------------Demonstrates solid motivational and leadership skills.------------------Maintains a professional but confident and outgoing demeanor.------------------Is capable of conducting independent research.------------------Demonstrates strong technical writing skills. --QUALIFICATIONS AND EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS------------------Minimum BS degree in Technical Degree; Master's degree in Finance, Marketing or Business Administration preferred.------------------10-15 years relevant experience and able to demonstrate a successful sales record in Aerospace & Defense Market------------------Possess a strong network of Aerospace Decision Makers and Program personnel to bring new opportunities to the company------------------Strong understanding of Military, Commercial Aviation, and Automotive industry standards, ------------------10 years' experience negotiating contracts and protocols. ------------------Understanding of fundamental electrical engineering principles and batteries.------------------Strong understanding of electric drivelines and vehicle architectures.------------------Technical capacity in terms of knowing battery cells, BMS and other required components.------------------US Citizen or Green Card holder
