Position Summary: We are searching for a Bioprocess Engineer/Scientist that will help drive global SUT product adoption/utilization and establish best practice training. This role will work directly within Thermo Fisher staff and customers to streamline process development and work flow training curriculum focused on the commercialization of bio-manufacturing techniques for producing biologic drug therapies. Responsibilities: Providing technical leadership in the areas of bioprocess workflow training. Develop and expanding existing technical product content and training curriculum. Develop and align technical training strategy towards global network of customer experience/applications centers for bioprocessing Aligning customer driven projects through steps of technology transfer, process development, and pre-manufacturing procedures Compile technical content into documents ready for publication in academic, industry, or trade journals Present at technical conferences and represent the company as a thought leader in industry. Leadership role for projects of moderate scope (cross functional or involve multiple teams); advisor/coach to mentor other team members Travel globally as required to perform job functions (3-4 months per year in China). Minimum Qualifications: Bachelor's of Science Degree in related field biotechnology or bio/chemical engineering MS degree + 4 year s experience, or PhD degree +2 years experience Following skills desired: Knowledge of bioprocessing operations (suspension cell culture, adherent cell culture, harvest & recovery) and cGMP (Current Good Manufacturing Practices) type environments. Experience specifying, designing, and/or qualifying small and large scale bioprocess unit operations (preference given to candidates with prior experience with cell culture expansion) Strong knowledge of cell biology and/or biochemistry, especially with respect to interaction with biopharmaceutical processes and process equipment Software proficiency: MS office programs, DeltaV, SAS/JMP, DoE, Matlab/simulink, Visio Proficient in scientific method/analysis and applied mathematics/statistics. Team oriented with excellent written and oral communication skills Project management skills, time management discipline, Gantt charting Experience directing technicians and small groups of staff and/or customers Expert verbal and written skills, with command of at least one other language (Chinese, Spanish, German)Exceptional relocation is available for qualified candidates!At Thermo Fisher Scientific, each one of our 70,000 extraordinary minds has a unique story to tell.
