Kelly Services is actively seeking a Staff Accountant--II for Nissan at their Irving, TX location. This is a long-term contract opportunity to join a great team! Staff Accountant II Minimum Qualifications* A Bachelor's or Master's Degree in Accounting* CPA or CPA candidate preferred* Three or more years of accounting experience, public accounting experience preferred* Strong level of knowledge of all accounting functions, including month end close and related accounts reconciliations* Experience in supervising staff level accounting personnel* Advanced skills in Microsoft Word, Excel, Access* SAP or other General Ledger system experience* Ability to communicate complex data in an effective manner to all levels of the organization* Ability to multi-task and work independently* Must have good presentation, interpersonal and communication skillsJob Description This position will be responsible for the reconciliation of cash received and or cash disbursed for consumer and dealer retail or lease financing. The candidate will be assigned reconciliations that are produced daily, weekly or semi monthly and be responsible for verifying mainframe and general ledger balances. This position will work directly with the operations departments and or IT department to research and resolve variances that occur on customer accounts and general ledger. Knowledge of GAAP is--required as well as a working knowledge of balance sheet accounting. This position will adhere that accounting policies are followed when performing their reconciliations and obtain the highest level of customer service. Describe the principle, core primary tasks that a person in this position performs daily* Review and process general ledger journal entries in compliance with policy and GAAP* Prepare and review general ledger account reconciliations* Analyze and research open reconciliation items and accounts for discrepancies; coordinate resolution of issues with management and other department representatives* Analyze and explain balance sheet account variances* Prepare monthly reports, audit reports, variance analysis, and budget reports* Act as accounting liaison during system implementation projects* Make process improvement recommendations and implement solutions* Review and submit internal and external audit requests; create positive working relationships with auditors by addressing their questions timely* Review Master Data sheets for assigned balance sheet accounts* Review new general ledger account requests and Standard Operating Procedures updates* Review and submit month end or special intercompany invoicing* Maintain monthly KPIs for staff accountants, and provide effective positive feedback* Work with confidential information* As necessary, perform other related duties as assignedImportant information: This position is recruited for by a remote Kelly office, not your local Kelly branch.
