Position Summary:The Manufacturing Engineer (II) will be responsible for supporting process design, operation and implementation by applying technical or scientific knowledge to drive process characterization and efficiencies, increase capacity, reduce costs, improve sustainability and maximize profitability for industrial, electronics, mechanical, or chemical processes.Job Duties and General Responsibilities:+ Support projects for improvements to equipment/ systems and manufacturing processes + Implement or optimize design controls for sustainability of equipment/ system/ or processes. + Support efforts to integrate new automated equipment/ systems/ processes for future state + Supports PPI team with LEAN/ continuous improvement projects. + Support Quality controls for processes, equipment, or systems. + Execution of validation protocols and reports for equipment/ systems/ or processes as applicable. + Research, coordinate, prepare and present technical papers or reports to respective groups + Maintains the standard operating procedures (SOP) of the engineering function. + Prepares documentation required to implement and release ECO'S. Additional responsibilities: + Coordinates with cross-functional departments or teams for requirements and specifications. + Comply with GMP standards and regulations (ie. ISO 90001, ISO 13485, 21CFRs, etc.) + Support the application of engineering principles and practices for an assigned area of responsibility. + Can provide training to interns.Minimum Requirements:Education: + Bachelor's degree in Engineering (mechanical, electrical, manufacturing, biomedical, or equivalent) + Technical certifications preferred Experience: + One [1] or more years working in an Engineering role supporting medical device or diagnostics, product assembly, manufacturing equipment/ system/ process design or sustainability, new product introduction (NPI), or continuous manufacturing improvements. Specialized skills: + Knowledge of Design Controls and Risk Management + Knowledge of Computer Aided Design program (CAD, Solidworks) + Knowledge of manufacturing processes (Device, Diagnostics, Bio) + Knowledge of Lean (Kaizen, Kanban, PPI) + Knowledge of Six Sigma + Knowledge of GMPs, regulations (ISO 90001, ISO 13485, 21 CFRs, etc)) Thermo Fisher Scientific is an Equal Opportunity Employer.
