Job Description:

This Program Coordinator II serves as a resource for lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender, queer, intersex, questioning, and straight members of the University community and works collaboratively within the USU Inclusion Center, Division of Student Affairs, and campus community to support the mission and function of the Center. The coordinator provides extensive programming, outreach and education on campus, assists students, staff, faculty, alumni and community members who access the space and services of the Center; advises student organizations; supervises student employees and volunteers; assists with administration of the Center; makes referrals, and helps maintain the office's physical space.The largest portion of the job is the responsibility for all aspects of the LGBTQA's robust and comprehensive programming from development through execution and the coordination of the Allies on Campus Program. The next significant roles of the job are student leadership development and advising, resource development and outreach, and the larger community engagement. Library development and special project coordination are additional functions of this position. Since the Inclusion Center provides services for Gender and Sexuality, Multicultural, Indigenous Populations, and Nontraditional students, this position includes several roles beyond just LGBTQA program coordination.MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:Bachelor's Degree with a minimum of 2 years of related professional experience working with college students within a University settingIn-depth knowledge of sexual orientation and gender identity, and the intersection of other identitiesAbility to concentrate in a busy office environment, pay close attention to detail and prioritize workload with frequent interruptionsAbility to juggle many different projects simultaneously, with consistent accuracy, follow-through, and timely completionExcellent communication skills to express ideas clearly and concisely both verbally and in writing, and strong interpersonal skills to work in a multicultural, social justice-oriented office with individuals and groups with a wide array of backgrounds, identities, life experiences, and communication stylesStrong group facilitation skillsAbility to recognize and protect confidential information and exercise judgment, tact and diplomacy in handling sensitive information and situationsAbility to take initiative, problem solve and work independently with good judgment to seek direction when neededAbility to work as a contributing member in a team-oriented environment with an understanding of the larger unit and University contexts. This includes being part of an office team as well as collaborating with colleagues and non-University partnersMust be proficient in Microsoft Word Office with a willingness to learn additional software to facilitate roles and responsibilities of this positionAbility to utilize current technology and attend to website updates and issues as neededAbility to consistently work some evenings and weekends for programming outside of regular business hoursExtensive experience with creative educational program development including program planning, implementation, and assessmentExperience with online outreach and current technology (i.e. social networking sites, virtual worlds, blogs, chat rooms, etc.)PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:Master's Degree with 1-3 years of related professional experienceProfessional experience working with multicultural and social justice education, including experience in the areas of race, ethnicity, nationality, class, disability, religion, sexuality, and genderExperience using web and graphic design softwareAlong with the online application, please attach:1.
