Together, we're pioneering the future of science and medicine, developing products that enable researchers in the fight to save lives.What you'll doThe Engineering Manager, Process Automation will lead a team of Automation Engineers to support Cytiva's production operations in Logan, Utah. The Logan site consists of production, warehouse/distribution, and administrative buildings (200K ft2) This position will also play a key role in the planning and execution of Automation strategies related to facilities expansions under the site master plan.Develop and implement automation life cycle strategies to assure effective, efficient and compliant (cGMP) operations. Area of responsibility includes Building Automation Systems (BAS) and PLC based process controls.Provide technical leadership on automation topics to support the maintenance, engineering, and production teams.Develops procedures for the management and execution of automation design, programming, installation, commissioning and validation and revision control.Support Automation Engineers in the execution of troubleshooting.Drive continuous improvement in processes and systems.Own and maintain systems for automation documentation (URS, FRS, drawings, etc)Establish automation systems landscape and lifecycle management plan to ensure platforms are current, maintainable, and appropriately documented.Ensure that proper staffing, training, tools, maintenance plans and spare parts inventory are in place to maximize equipment availability in the most cost-efficient manner.Work within a team environment with Engineering and Automation managers in the planning and support of capital expansion and automation upgrade projects.Participate in Basis of Design and planning meetings related to the Cytiva Site Master plan to ensure automation elements are represented in the final design.Who you areB.S. Degree in Mechanical, Electrical, Industrial Engineering or related technical degree; or an Associate's Degree and 5 years automation/controls engineering years' experience.At least 2 years-experience in an automation supervisory role of similar scopeProgramming skills: Ladder logic, Function Block, STL, Boolean logic and higher-level programming languages such as Visual BasicExperience with Electric Motor Control/Drive ConfigurationExperience with automation networks: Device Net, Modbus, Profibus, and Ethernet IPExperience with PLC control systems (Allen Bradly, Siemens, etc.)ISA-5.1 Instrumentation Symbols and IdentificationISA-S888 Batch ControlNEMA and IEC schematic diagramsLogix500/500 ProgrammingFactoryTalk View ME/SEDemonstrated strong communication skills (written and verbal)Pharmaceutical (cGMP) industry experience highly desired.Strong customer service and problem-solving aptitude.Demonstrated ability to lead, develop, communicate & implement strategies in a team environment.Strong communication skills, verbal and written (English)Working knowledge of Excel, Word, Power Point.When you join us, you'll also be joining Danaher's global organization, where 68,000 people wake up every day determined to help our customers win.
