SUMMARY We are looking for positive, organized, and skilled paraprofessionals. You will interact regularly with the teacher, Sped director and small groups of students in the class to carry out individual accommodations, support, clerical work, and student supervisory duties. Paraprofessionals may rotate among various classrooms as needed and may function as substitute teacher. About Logan River Academy Logan River Academy is a residential treatment center and fully accredited school for adolescent youth form ages 12-18. We help students struggling with a wide range of emotional and behavioral issues including: autism spectrum disorders, adoption issues, anxiety, oppositional behavior, bipolar disorder, borderline issues, PTSD, substance abuse, depression, ADHD, impulse control, peer pressure, anger management, self-esteem, grief/loss issues, family relationships, communication, and academic struggles ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS ' Academic Instruction and Support o Provide academic and behavioral support to students during classroom instruction under the direction of the teacher. o Assist in preparation of instructional materials as directed by teacher. o Assist in monitoring of independent seat work. o May function as a substitute teacher. Behavior Management o Implement NCI strategies to support students emotionally and behaviorally. o Demonstrate the ability to set limits and maintain personal boundaries. o Demonstrate cultural sensitivity in all interactions with students/families. o Effectively use patience and therapeutic tone in day-to-day interactions with students. EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE REQUIRED High School Diploma or equivalent Associate's Degree in early childhood or related human services preferred Previous experience working with children with severe behaviors. LICENSE AND/OR CERTIFICATIONS REQUIRED CPR certification required within 90 days of hire (provided by Logan River Academy). Certification in Crisis Intervention required with the first training course provided after hire date. (provided by Logan River Academy) Shifts/Hours: This is a fulltime position, typical schedule is M-F 8:00 am to 3:00 pm Compensation: Competitive salary PTO Medical, Dental, Vision, Life Insurance, and Retirement Benefit
