The Program Coordinator III assists in managing the U.S. Department of Education (USDE) federal grant program funding for the Utah State University (USU) GEAR UP Utah grant. The Program Coordinator oversees and provides leadership to all project employees and project entities.The Program Coordinator monitors project services and provides guidance to all project activities. The Program Coordinator is responsible for ensuring that all project service providers meet contractual performance benchmarks and project objectives, and provide documentation of such to USDE and Utah State University.The Program Coordinator works with school and community partners in their local contexts and must be able and willing to travel independently and frequently to all partner, community, and activity campuses and locations. The Program Coordinator keeps the Utah State University Principal Investigator informed of project activities and progress and reports to other Utah State University personnel as directed by the Principal Investigator.Supervise and lead a team of GEAR UP office administrators, data specialists, and College Access Advisors.Assist in monitoring and ensuring that Utah State University GEAR UP Utah provides services in accordance with grant award.Assist in monitoring that grant contractors achieve performance standards and meet service level targets.Prepare and submit required performance reports.Support ongoing evaluation, planning and vision for meeting the educational needs of students.Support and develop early intervention activities for high school students, including raising awareness and readiness for post-secondary education.Develop educational strategies with school partners to enhance academic rigor and provide access to programs that assist them in achieving higher academic standards.Create annual expenditure and cost-share budgets and provide justifications for approval to Utah State University and USDE.Develop strategies to engage parents in preparing GEAR UP students for higher education.Form relationships with other state and nation-wide GEAR UP projects to learn about effective practices.Work with school and community partners to ensure the sustainability of the project beyond the GEAR UP award period.Collaborate with USU Student affairs to develop summer programs, campus visits, and parent events. Provide guidance on allowable activities and expenditures.Create educational outreach opportunities for future college campus visits by networking with community organizations and USU departments.Attend GEAR UP conferences to learn about effective practices and expose Utah State University partners to the larger domestic and international GEAR UP network.Assist in promoting and marketing the Utah State University GEAR UP Project to the public, schools, communities and Utah State University faculty and staff to increase its visibility at all levels of the state and highlight the successes of the USU GEAR UP Utah Project.Minimum Qualifications:Bachelor's degree in a related field plus two years of relevant work experience; or a master's degree in a related field; or an equivalent combination of education plus experience is required.Preferred QualificationsEdD or equivalent.Teaching and administrative experience along K-12 education spectrum.Background in coordinating or developing post-secondary education awareness and readiness programs.Three to five years of leadership experience in K-12 or post-secondary education learning environments and other educational organizations.Oversight of federal, state, and/or corporate funding for educational activities.Experience in hiring and supervising staff and evaluating employee performance.Along with the online application, please attach:1.
