Job Summary: The Senior Development Manager is responsible for managing prospect/donor research, qualification, tracking, solicitation, acknowledgment, recognition, and stewardship. They will support Malouf Foundation's major gift team in building and enhancing systems for successful fundraising for years to come.

Primary Responsibilities: Database management and stakeholder support to develop and maintain a process for donor acquisition and retention.

  • Supports all fundraising activities, including major gifts, planned giving, direct mail, and corporate sponsorships. Works with the executive director, executive board members, other stakeholders, and staff to successfully execute the plans.
  • Direct the procurement of an established and proven database management tool.
  • Establish a high functioning development shop including prospect identification through database research, prospect and donor tracking, high end database management.
  • Establish process for guiding all prospects through the donor cycle from identification to solicitation and stewardship.
  • Support stakeholders with donor stewardship.
  • Establish best practices for management of all prospect and donor information.
  • Enforce protocol for data entry to ensure accurate donor data.
  • Research potential donors and equip stakeholders with relevant info including personal, professional and wealth information.
  • Establish system of follow up with stakeholders on their assigned contacts and help drive outcomes.
  • Prospect Research and Reporting
  • Author and edit prospect research reports, and other documents as needed.
  • Direct input and acknowledgement of all gifts and maintain complete and accurate records of all prospect management.
  • Educate and train staff and volunteers on database use.
  • Generate database reports, campaign and annual gift tracking and analysis for development staff and Malouf Foundation Board of Directors.
  • Generate capital campaign pledge reminders, track pledge payments, and follow-up on outstanding pledge cards.
  • Pull and organize donor lists for the Annual Report.
  • Maintain all related financial materials, ensuring that all gift acceptance and management policies and procedures are followed with care and in keeping with current fundraising protocol.
  • Prepare written materials, including correspondence, solicitation and proposal materials, acknowledgments, regular communications, and moves management reports.

  • Work with events team in establishing donor engagement/participation in all Malouf Foundation events.
  • Consult on the development of marketing materials for donor related initiatives, working to develop higher funnel donor marketing touchpoints and qualifiers.

  • Develop individualized donor stewardship and cultivation activities, including annual stewardship action plans for all major donors

Desired Qualifications: The successful applicant will have:

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent required
  • Non-profit fundraising experience preferred
  • Experience with database management
  • General digital proficiency in common business tools
  • Exceptional people skills with an attention to customer experience
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to maintain a high level of confidentiality
  • Ability to work independently and/or with a diverse team
  • Skills necessary to effectively use a variety of programs and software, including database programs and design software
