Job Description:
Job ID 8372 The Space Dynamics Laboratory (SDL) is seeking a
detailed and proactive student to work part-time as a Mission
Assurance Assistant. The selected candidate will primarily be
responsible for supporting NASA, International Space Station (ISS),
and Department of Defense (DoD) system safety efforts for contract
/ mission compliance and safety review processes. Work will include
acting as safety witness for critical operations, being a member of
a mishap investigation team, supporting hardware assembly and
transit activities in cleanroom environments, and extensive desk
work participating in requirement reviews and process documentation
writing. Additional mission assurance related duties will be
assigned as needed. Team participation skills, personal interaction
skills, and the ability to consistently perform job functions at
moments of peak activity will be weighted heavily in the hiring
process. Duties performed will support contracts for development of
flight deliverables (electrical, mechanical, and software) for
spaceflight and defense applications. Minimum Requirements Must be
a current USU student Willing to perform work with emphasis on
consistency, attention to detail, and completion of thorough
documentation Interact constructively with others to communicate
and resolve safety issues Ability to perform established work
priorities with minimal direct supervision Basic knowledge/skill
with Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, and Adobe Acrobat Must be a US
citizen and be able to obtain a US Government Security Clearance
