Applied Sciences, Technology and Education department in the
College of Agriculture and Applied Sciences at Utah State
University invites applications for a nine-month, non-tenure-track
Lecturer position, with an opportunity for summer employment. - The
primary role assignment is teaching (95%) and the successful
candidate will teach undergraduate courses to students pursuing
degrees in Family and Consumer Sciences Education (FCSE) and
Outdoor Product Design and Development (OPDD). All USU faculty
members are also expected to make positive contributions to the
University through a service role (5%). - This faculty position is
located on the Utah State University (USU) campus in Logan, Utah. -
-Estimated start date is August 1, 2022.The successful applicant
for this position will provide teaching excellence in the FCSE and
OPDD degree programs. - The teaching assignment will involve
undergraduate instruction for students in clothing construction
classes along with assisting with the functions of the sewing labs.
Courses will be delivered in face-to-face format. Complete duties
related to teaching include grading, recording grades, setting up
for lab, cleaning up after lab, etc. - Other duties and teaching
related to FCSE and OPDD classes may be assigned as needed. The
department also encourages scholarly or creative disciplinary
contributions to academia, recognizing these contributions as a
necessity for promotion considerations.Minimum Qualifications:
- Earned master's in a degree program closely related to Family
and Consumer Sciences Education (completed by date of
appointment).
- Successful post-secondary or clothing construction teaching
experiences.
- Evidence of effective written and oral communication,
interpersonal, organizational, and team skills.
- Ability and desire to teach and mentor college students at
USU.Preferred Qualifications:
- Previous employment and experience at a post-secondary
institution.
- Experience with educational technology and strategies.
- Success in obtaining funding to support sustainable scholarly
efforts.Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
- Advanced clothing construction
