The Department of Social Work at Utah State University (USU)
invites applications for an Assistant Professor (tenure track or
clinical). The position is located at the USU main campus in Logan,
Utah. The Department of Social Work at USU actively pursues social
justice and empowerment for all, and especially historically
marginalized groups and individuals, through education, research,
and community engagement. Thus, the Department of Social Work seeks
to hire an individual whose teaching practice incorporates a social
justice philosophy and is grounded in a strengths and empowerment
perspective. -Position: This is a nine-month appointment with USU's
social work program (MSW and BSW degrees). Requirements include the
ability to teach primarily in the BSW program. -Tenure-track
positions have a role assignment of 75% Teaching, supervising, and
advising; 15% Research; and 10% Service. Tenure-track positions are
renewed annually during the probationary period assuming acceptable
performance of the role assignment. -Clinical-track positions have
a role assignment of 90% Teaching, supervising, and advising; and
10% Service. Clinical-track positions are renewed annually,
assuming acceptable performance of the role assignment and
availability of funds. -The anticipated start date for this
position is August 1, 2022.1) Teach courses in BSW and MSW
programs; 2) advise undergraduate and graduate students; 3)
supervise practicum placements regionally; 4) engage in scholarship
and professional productivity; and 5) provide service to the
department, the statewide campus, and the social work
profession.Minimum Qualifications -Tenure Track: 1) an MSW from a
CSWE-accredited social work program; 2) two years post-MSW practice
experience; and 3) an earned doctorate (PhD or DSW) in social work
or closely related field at the time of appointment.Clinical Track:
1) an MSW from a CSWE-accredited social work program; and 2) two
years post-MSW practice experience. -Preferred Qualifications
-Tenure Track:1) experience teaching at undergraduate and graduate
levels; 2) teaching experience with online and distance education
technology; 3) a record of scholarly activity; and 4) experience
with practicum student supervision.Clinical Track:1) experience
teaching at undergraduate and graduate levels; 2) CSW or LCSW, or
eligibility for Utah state licensure; 3) teaching experience with
distance education technology; and 4) experience supervising
