The Emma Eccles Jones College of Education and Human Services
business services team is seeking a motivated and detail oriented
individual to join us as a Business Assistant III. The business
assistant will provide transactional support to departments within
the college. The position requires excellent interpersonal and
communication skills, the ability to balance multiple projects and
deadlines, and the desire and capacity to work both independently
and collaboratively as part of a productive team. Review of

Summary of Benefits 2022-2023Job offer is contingent upon the
successful completion of a background check.Provide Hiring,
Onboarding, and Payroll Services:Submit timely and accurate job
postings for hourly and benefited positions.Collect required hiring
paperwork and complete hiring process for employees.Process
electronic personnel action forms to hire, change pay details,
terminate employees.Set up hourly employees in time tracking system
and process biweekly payroll.Set up benefited employees in time
tracking/leave system and act as leave manager.Provide Purchasing
Services:Coordinate purchases from faculty/staffCollect receipts
from other cardholders or delegates as assigned, reviews for policy
and use, and attaches receipts in the purchasing card
system.Coordinate with purchasing on contract reviews, bids,
request for quotes, etc.Other Responsibilities:Maintains accurate
equipment inventory and assists with annual audit.Provides support
to the department business managers on monthly reconciliation of
designated indexes.Processes journal vouchers as designated.Assists
with department deposits.Positively engages and attends training
and informational meetings provided by Purchasing, HR, Controller's
Office, or Business ServicesMinimum QualificationSix years of
related work experience; or an associate degree/technical training
plus four years of related work experience; or a bachelor's degree
in a business field plus two years of related work experience is
requiredPreferred QualificationsWorking knowledge of Banner HR
moduleExperience processing EPAFs in BannerFamiliarity with Banner
finance and student modules, Argos, and ServiceNowPrevious
university experience with knowledge USU policies and
proceduresKnowledge, Skills, and AbilitiesProactive in resolving
issues, setting up processes, and providing high-level customer
service.Skilled with computer programs, including spreadsheets, and
relational databases.Skilled with basic office equipment, including
printers, copiers, and telephone systems.Good organizational skills
and attention to detail.Ability to handle sensitive and
confidential business data and personal information.Ability to work
without supervision.Excellent customer service skills.Tact,
