Job Description:

Electronics Design Engineer will work primarily developing mixed-signal, low-power electronics and associated firmware to produce industry leading devices for the Level, Flow and Pressure Sensor marketplace. Will be an integral member of product development teams responsible for bringing products from conception to full production.ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • New product development project responsibilities include:
    • instigates research to determine new product deliverable features and specifications
    • develops and obtains approval for product development schedule and budget
    • designs, tests, and delivers product to agreed-upon plan into full production activity
    • builds prototypes of new designs as required
    • Manages existing product line support and improvements which include:
      • looks for cost reductions and efficiencies
      • works to continuously improve product flow
      • signs off on change orders from other employees
      • Engages in project management by coordinating and directing those support personnel needed to complete product development activities; responsible for the technical results of that work and the communication to necessary departments
      • Delivers full product documentation upon release to production to include manufacturing assembly/test fixtures, documentation, work instructions, procedures and training
      • Provides sales and marketing technical support needed to produce catalogs, sales literature, blogs, datasheets and owners' documents
      • Works with sales team and customers to develop custom solutions for their applications.
      • Supports the implementation of ISO, CSA and ATEX quality systems as they apply to the engineering department including validity testing and documentation
      • Assists in selection, setup, problem solving and sustaining of critical manufacturing equipment
      • Assists as required to perform failure analysis on returned units from customers; assists the Quality Assurance group in preparing reports documenting failure analysis and corrective action
      • Interacts daily with other engineers, production personnel, management, customer service, and other departments
      • Works with material and equipment suppliers, approval agencies, vendors, and internal and external customers to define the objectives of projects
      • Acts as backup for application engineersQUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS:Minimum BSEE or BSCS. Experience in designing and supporting commercial electronic products involving mixed-signal analog, digital, and microprocessor circuitry and supporting firmware. Experienced in supporting the design of commercial electronic products in a manufacturing environment.OTHER SKILLS and ABILITIES:
        • Proficient programmer using C, C++ and user of engineering CAD tools such as Altium, SolidWorks, compilers and emulators such as IAR, KEIL, as well as simulation and analysis programs.
        • Experienced with implementation best practices of various wireless IoT network protocols.
        • Experienced with RS485, 4-20 mA, Fieldbus, and Modbus protocols.
        • Ability to operate sophisticated test and sensor equipment normally associated with electronics assembly, design and development, as well as reliability and environmental test equipment.
        • Familiarization with implementation of the HART and/or Wireless HART protocol.
        • Must be pleasant, friendly and helpful to external and internal customers. Must have ability to be a self-motivated learner.
