Position: Continuous Improvement Technician Location: Logan, UT Job Id: 6453 # of Openings: 1 TTM Technologies - Logan DivisionJob Description Job Title: Continuous Improvement TechnicianFLSA Status: Hourly Non Exempt Summary Essential Duties and Responsibilities - Ability to read, understand, and follow written procedures and instructions in English. - Analyze current practices looking for no or low value added activities in specific departments. - Use education and/or experience to look for improvement opportunities and develop strategies to incorporate changes to process or workflow. - Take the lead to coordinate with manufacturing, process engineering and quality engineering to implement changes and follow through with training. - Monitor progress and ensure improvements methods are executed to produce desired results. - May be required to make presentations to management group to illustrate changes and demonstrate improvements to workflow. - May be assigned other duties, responsibilities and projects as deemed appropriate by operations management. Qualifications To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. Education and/or Experience Bachelor's degree (B.A.) from four-year College or university; or junior level or above enrolled college student in Business management or Engineering with some training in lean manufacturing and/or continuous improvement, or five to seven years' experience and/or training in the printed circuit board (PCB) industry; or equivalent combination of education and experience.. Language Skills Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence. Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to customers, clients, and other employees of the organization. Mathematical Skills Ability to calculate figures and amount such as discounts, interest, commissions, proportions, percentages, area, circumference, and volume. Ability to apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions to practical situations. Reasoning Ability Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form. Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations. Computer Skills To perform this job successfully, an individual should have knowledge of basic computer hardware and/or software programs. Will be required to run reports in fasttrak and make decisions based on data. May be required to use spreadsheets. Will be required to learn department specific programs and computer applications. An individual must be able to apply this knowledge in different situations. Other QualificationsMust have a high level of technical expertise, exceptional organizational skills, be able to apply analytical thinking to process data and recommend solutions, and have great communication skills. Physical Demands The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to walk; stand; talk or hear. The employee is occasionally required to sit; use hand to touch or feel items; reach with hands and arms; perform repetitive motion; climb or balance; stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds. The employee will be required to carry up to 25 pounds a distance of 20 feet up to 50 times per shift. The employee will also be required to push/pull up to 150 pounds, a distance of 100 feet, several times per shift using a cart. The physical demands described here are in place so the individual may assist production staff by moving/loading panels and pushing carts to the next area. Work Environment The work environment characteristics described here are representative of those an employee encounters while performing the essential functions of this job. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to work near moving mechanical parts. The employee is frequently exposed to wet or humid conditions (non-weather), and fumes or airborne particles. The employee is occasionally required to work in high, precarious places; exposed to toxic or caustic chemicals and outdoor weather conditions. While performing the duties of this job, the employee will be required to work with open-top chemical tanks. PPE Requirements - Will need to follow department specific PPE requirements. May be required to wear gloves, steel toed shoes, safety glasses, face shield, chemical protective clothing including apron and/or sleeves. ITAR Requirements - Must comply with TTM Export Control Policies and Procedures and all applicable lawsincluding ITAR, EAR and OFAC. - Reinforce to all employees the commitment of TTM management to abide by all USExport laws and regulations. - Understand and follow authorization procedures for bringing foreign visitors into facilities(VAL). - Support Export Compliance Officers and others in their efforts to ensure compliance withthe Corporate Export policies through implementation and enforcement of these procedures, provide training to all facilities and departments and support periodic audits as required. - Provide feedback to Corporate Export Compliance Office for continuous improvement ofprocedures and overall Export Compliance program.
